Hi - I want to ask for some help in broadening our destination list.

We have 2 kids and a dog. The kids don't always need shore leave, but our dog - even though he's not large - does.

We sail out of Penetanguishene, and as a result we've generally stayed to park land - various bays and anchorages on Beausoleil, over to Giant's tomb, etc.

Go Home bay looks nice, but I've not heard of any public land there. McCrae lake (traveller's shrine) looks like a good option to try.

We're happy to dinghy somewhere a ways away from our anchorage, and any public boat launch or similar would do. We're responsible with respect to cleanup etc.

Any recommendations from other dog owners (or otherwise) on locations within a day of Penetanguishene? We'd love to try some new spots.

Cheers - Graham.

Anchoring off Cedar Springs is a good option, especially with kids. There are swings etc on shore and plently of hiking trails as well as biking trails too.
